Artist Statement

Painting is my passion and my delight, and my art reflects my search for happiness, serenity and beauty. I like to convey ideas and points of view, rather than precise representations, occasionally with a sense of whimsy. I complement those attributes with equal attention to pure shape and form. For me, art is a matter of balance between the heart and the head: my heart wants color and light; my head requires balance and structure. Thus my paintings have a sense of pattern and design while remaining free flowing and spontaneous.
